Aurier’s Tottenham contract terminated

Serge Aurier Tottenham contract

Tottenham have confirmed the club has terminated Serge Aurier‘s contract by mutual consent.

Aurier moved to Spurs in a £23million transfer from Paris Saint-Germain back in 2017.

The Ivorian fullback has gone to make 110 appearances in all competitions for the club.

But in recent months the 28-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and hasn’t played a match under new boss Nuno Santo Espirito this season.

In a short statement posted on Tottenham‘s official website, a spokesman for Spurs announced: “The club can confirm the departure of Serge Aurier following the mutual termination of his contract.

“Signed from PSG in August 2017, Serge made his debut in our 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League before going on to make 110 appearances for us, scoring eight goals.

“We thank Serge for his service and wish him well for the future.”

Aurier said in response to the news: “I have really enjoyed my time at Spurs and would like to thank the Club and the fans, but I feel now is the right time for me to move onto a new challenge.”
