“A woman that is trying to get her mental health together” – BBNaija Uriel Oputa chastises comedian Dee One over his comment on Genevieve Nnaji’s looks
Big Brother Naija’s former housemate and chef Uriel Oputa has slammed comedian Dee-One for chasing clout with veteran actress Genevieve Nnaji.
Kemi Filani reported on Sunday that Genevieve Nnaji, who has been keeping a low profile for a year now, had taken to her Instagram story to support Ayra Starr. She had shared a video of her listening to the Mavins singer’s sophomore album.
The video, which went viral, left many praising the veteran for her new ageing look as they noted how she still looks younger than her age.
Dee One, who wasn’t pleased with such a statement, told netizens to stop deceiving the actress. He stated that the actress is old and should start taking up mother and grandmother roles. He admonished Nigerians to stop saying she is young.
“Genevieve is old; stop saying she’s young. She should start taking up mother and grandmother roles already”.
Taking to her Instagram story, Uriel slammed him for his opinion as she informed him that there are things one shouldn’t dabble in at all.
She noted how Genevieve was trying to get her mental health together, yet he was speaking low of her. She added that not everything is content, as she further noted how social media is toxic and there are lots of people on the brink of suicide.
“Dee One, I love you, bro,
But Genevieve?
Come on, bro,
There are things you just don’t Dabble in at all.
A woman that’s trying to get her mental health together!!
Bro, there are just things you don’t say; let it be a thought.
Social media is Toxic.
We need to learn how to filter our thoughts.
There are alot of people on the brink of Suicide.
Not everything is content”.
Recall that in 2022, it was alleged that Genevieve was admitted to the hospital following a mental breakdown.
Faceless blogger Gistlover alleged that the actress was suffering from mental issues and had sought treatment in Houston, Texas. The report was confirmed by a US-based Nurse, Sil Fenesse, who revealed more about her admission. However, Genevieve debunked the reports with a video of her painting on her Instagram story.
In July 2023, she made her first public statement on Instagram with an adorable selfie. She also returned to Instagram to mark her 44th birthday by sharing a video of her surrounded by friends and family with a cake.
In September, Genevieve made a public appearance at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival in Canada, where she premiered her upcoming movie, I Do Not Come To You By Chance. She shared photos on her Instagram page which led to an outpour of comments from celebrities.
