Mohamed Salah was left heartbroken and shed tears as Egypt suffered a shock AFCON exit against South Africa.
Egypt were considered favourites against 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa but things certainly didn’t go to plan.
Thembinkosi Lorch fired South Africa into the lead and the Bafana Bafana warriors managed to keep Egypt at bay and won the Round of 16 game 1-0.
Left-back Sifiso Hlanti, who plays for South African side Bidvest Wits FC, did a remarkable job as he managed to keep Mohammed Salah, Egypt’s star man quiet for the entire game.
Salah was seen crying after the match.
