EFL Championship side, Derby County have given Chelsea the permission to speak to their manager Frank Lampard.
Chelsea FC are currently eyeing their club legend, Frank Lampard to fill the manager role Maurizio Sarri left to manage Juventus.
If Lampard moves, Chelsea will have to pay £4m to Derby County.
“With pre-season fast approaching for both clubs it is hoped this will allow Chelsea to swiftly conclude their discussions,” a Derby statement read.
“The club will make no further comment until it is appropriate to do so.”
Lampard kicked off his career as a manager last season, leading Derby County to the Championship play-off final but they lost to Aston Villa.
The former England midfielder in 13 years, made 648 Chelsea appearances, winning 11 major trophies.
