Matthijs de Ligt will either move to England or Spain according to AJAX’s Chief Executive Officer, Edwin van der Sar.
Latest talks about the 19-year-old defender suggests he will chose between Liverpool or Barcelona.
CEO of Ajax, Van der Sar has now somehow backed the talks as he said before Ajax’s Champions League second leg against Tottenham that he would move to a bigger club.
“I think these will be De Ligt’s final games with Ajax, but I hope he goes out on a high.
”He’s been here since he was a child and will end up at a big club. I think he’ll go to England or Spain.”
Although De Ligt was on target for Ajax on Wednesday but he could not prevent his team from slipping out of the Champions League on away goals.
De Ligt has previously said he would wait until the end of the season before making his mind, with Barca believed to be hopeful he will follow team-mate Frenkie de Jong to the Camp Nou.
