Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed what he told Lionel Messi after his side lost 1-0 to Barcelona at Old Trafford in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of eight tie.
An own goal from Luke Shaw ensured the Spanish side gained the advantage over United as they prepare for the second leg.
Immediately the game ended, Solskjaer walked up to Messi on his way to the tunnel and had a very short word with him.
“I told him all the best and see you next week,” Solskjaer said. “That’s it.”
He added: “Messi is a fantastic player. We did as well as we could against him. We kept our shape well.”
United will hope to overturn their 1-0 deficit when they tackle Barcelona at Camp Nou in the Champions League second-leg next week.
