The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has cried out over the arrest of his son-in-law and lawyer.
Taking to Twitter, Atiku reminded those responsible that the main responsibility is to ensure peace and not persecution.
He tweeted:
“My son in law and lawyer have been detained, one for 3 weeks and the other recently. They are paying the price for supporting me. I urge those now persecuting them to remember that a government’s mandate is to pursue peace and justice for all, and not just those who support them.”
Atiku lost the election to president Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC. He has however vowed to challenge the election result in court.
