Ayo Mairo-Ese joins a host of others to lament over the unavailability of their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) just a day to the end of the collection process.
The OAP took to her Instagram page to complain about the fact that two hours after standing under the sun for the collection of her PVC, she was told that it is yet to be ready.
Ayo shared the post via her Instagram page on Friday, February 8, 2019, saying that she feels cheated out of her right to vote, and asked if it was possible to sue someone for the blunder.
She wrote, “You mean you haven’t collected your PVC?? |Okay, seriously though, I feel cheated! After spending hours standing in the hot sun (2days), I was informed that my PVC was ‘not ready’! It’s my civic duty and right to vote. I want to vote. I honestly feel robbed.
“The process of getting the temporary card was tedious and now the procedure for exchanging it for a permanent one is frustrating and in some cases impossible!
“I can’t imagine the number of disenfranchised Nigerians who are willing and able to vote, who’ve made much of an effort, yet barred by the system.
“Please, Lawyers in the house, who can I sue?! Surely I can sue someone right?

PS Later today, we’ll know if INEC will extend the deadline ??.”
Ayo is hardly the first person to complain about the PVC collection process.
On Thursday, February 7, 2019, another Instagram User shared videos of protests going on at the INEC office in the Eti-Osa Local Government office at Igbo-Efon, Lekki.
The video footage shows people with placards and signs protesting the availability of PVC’s which INEC has been urging them to pick up at these centres before the deadline which is today, Friday, February 8, 2019.
