The Presidential debate is presently ongoing as the candidates are selling themselves to Nigerians in Abuja. However, both Buhari and Atiku are missing in the debate.
The debate is being hosted by the Broadcasting Corporation of Nigeria and the NESG.
Moghalu, Oby Ezekwesili, Fela Durotoye, has reacted to the absence of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar; and that of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari.
The candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Oby Ezekwesili, lambasted the Buhari and Atiku for shunning the presidential debate.
Moghalu said the two presidential candidates were absent because “they could not answer the intricate questions about the economy, and also about security. They feel we can not do without them as they have had us bound for years. One is the kettle, one is the pot.”
Moghalu insisted that both presidential candidates boycotted the event due to arrogance.
They believe Nigerians will always come to them.
“They have a sense of entitlement but not a record of service to the people of Nigeria.
They cannot answer the questions to be asked tonight.”
The presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, Kingsley described the duo of Atiku and Buhari as kettle and pot.
Durotoye noted that Atiku and Buhari’s absence was another way of taking Nigerians for granted, saying their attitude was another way of saying Nigerians didn’t matter.
