It has been reported that the Boko Haram militants have given residents of Jakana village along Maiduguri, Damaturu road from now till Wednesday to relocate.
It is believed that the village is also a route linking the Lake Chad region and Sambisa forest in Southern Borno.
A resident of Maiduguri, who claimed to have seen resident of Jakana village living their homes while coming from Damaturu, said they were moving out in their numbers.
Another staff of one of the organisations in Maiduguri told newsmen that, “One of our staff who came from Damaturu this morning informed us that people were leaving Jakana.”
At the moment, there is no official communication from the security authorities as neither the police or the military has made any statement on the development.
However, residents of Maiduguri have been calling on their loved ones to double check on information about the road before plying when coming to town or going out to avert any uncertainty.
