Following the drastic shortage in power supply to their hostels, the medical students in the University of Lagos have been force to go on a rampage as they protest the non-condusive living condition of the hostel
With a memo showing the time the students should expect power supply, which epicts a mere three hour supply, the students took to a protest last night
The proposed power supply schedule is supposed to take off today, and the Unilag medical students will be one hour power supply in the morning and two hours at night. Here is the notice served to the students below;
The protesters marched round the campus, complaining of an inconducive environment for learning
As at the time of this report, authorities at the college of medicine are yet to react to the now escalated issue
This is coming after it was reported that engineering students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) are seeking ways to generate electricity outside the national grid for rural communities in a bid to promote research and growth.
The students were making the effort under the umbrella of University of Lagos Engineering Association.
“We want to proffer a solution to poor electricity supply. We want to see how to give electricity in rural areas a boost.
“We want to generate electricity that will be independent of the national grid,’’ Mr. Mojolaoluwa Keshinro, a member of the association, said in Lagos
