Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has wondered why Nigerian schools engage in extra lessons for students after school hours. In a tweet he shared, he stated that the present practice is totally different from what they experienced as kids while growing up.
According to him, extra lessons after schools close by 1pm is similar to corruption because it prevents kids from having enough time to rest and engage in other activities.
Hadi Sirika wrote:
“I just don’t understand extra lessons for our kids, It is either that they are not taught properly or there is an element of corruption! In our time most schools closed by 1pm. We had time to rest, play, run errands for parents, read, go to Qur’anic school/Bible study and bond…”
