Spanish La Liga President, Javier Tebas has stated that Barcelona Star Lionel Messi has done more for the league than Cristiano Ronaldo and anyone else.
Ronaldo left Real Madrid in the summer and signed for Juventus in a £88m deal after scoring a stunning 311 goals in 292 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos. The Portuguese also won two titles and two Copa Del Rey trophies while in Spain.
However, Javier Tebas still doesn’t think he did enough for the league like Messi did.
“It would depend on Leo Messi but I’d love to have a LaLiga award in his name,” Tebas explained.
“No one has brought more to La Liga than him and if he finishes his career in Spain, or most of it, I don’t believe anyone has contributed more to the competition.”
The 56-year-old then hit out at Ronaldo while praising the Barcelona star.
“The fact Cristiano Ronaldo has gone to Serie A means he’s even more important,” he added.
