A video showing Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje allegedly receiving a cash bribe of $5 million from a contractor has hit the internet and Nigerians on social media have not stopped talking.
The video which was released by a journalist at the Daily Nigerian is the basis for allegations leveled against the governor claiming that he is in the habit of collecting about 15-25 percent kickback from contractors.
A contractor who said his intention is to expose the allegedly corrupt governor and restore sanity in the country agreed to a sting operation that revealed the alleged act.
Before the release of the video, the Kano state government had dismissed it as “cloned” document meant to blackmail and extort the governor.
Since the release of the video on Sunday afternoon, social media users have had a field day discussing various angles to the story.
See some of the reactions:
My problem with the Ganduje video is that it was released too early. Would have been nice to hit them around that January period. Discredit and destabilize him.
Shey they said they have 5 million voters in Kano. Add to the chunk Kwankwaso already has.

Who was responsible for the soundtrack in that Ganduje video? Made the governor look like ciroki collecting money to marry off his daughter to the rich man she doesn't like

I remembered one of the CEO’s of a construction company that carried out infrastructural projects in kano said RMK used to pulled them out of their houses during odd hours to deliver his kickbacks to him, almost all governors do that, Ganduje was just reckless and greedy😐
