Juventus have broken silence concerning the tape allegation against Cristiano Ronaldo.
The club which signed the player from Real Madrid in the summer issued a statement in support of Ronaldo via their twitter page.
“@Cristiano Ronaldo has shown in recent months his great professionalism and dedication, which is appreciated by everyone at Juventus.
“The events allegedly dating back to almost 10 years ago do not change this opinion, which is shared by anyone who has come into contact with this great champion,” the Serie A champions tweeted.
A lady accuses the star player of raping her anally when they met in Las Vegas in 2009.
She also alleges the former Manchester United forward, then dispatched a team to trick her into keeping quiet for 375,000 dollars (£268,000).
The criminal case has however been reopened after the woman asked for it.
