You will recall that Brazilian winger Robinho was on the verge of joining Chelsea from Real Madrid in 2008, but the deal collapsed in the 11th hour.
Robinho has now revealed what transpired.
“I wanted to go to Chelsea, Scolari told me that I could make the difference for him in the team,”he said.
“However, Real Madrid ended up badly with them, they didn’t like the way that Chelsea sold shirts with my name on them before the deal was done.
Robinho eventually joined Manchester City as part of the new team bankrolled by the new City owners in 2008.
The former AC Milan winger made 41 appearances for City scoring 14 goals including a fine free kick against Chelsea on his debut.
