Aymeric Laporte scored his first Manchester City goal to save the Citizens from defeat against newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Wolves denied Manchester City the chance to score as they played out a goalless draw in the first half.
Rui Patricio made a series of incredible saves in the match to help his team to a point.
Boly Wilfred gave Wolverhampton Wanderers the lead in the 57th minute, Aymeric Laporte restored parity in the 69th minute.
Manchester City asked all the questions but Patricio had all the answers.
Pep Guardiola described the point as a good point in his post match conference
“It was a very good point. We created chances but their keeper made saves, so today we draw. We knew how good they were this season. No complaints.
“We created a lot, that’s why it’s good. In the first half, Aguero hit the post – sometimes it goes in, sometimes not.
“We were not solid defensively today, that is why we conceded a few chances to them.
But in general, the game – considering the quality of the opponent – was good. We have to give credit.”
