Ace musician, Yinka Ayefele’s Music House was partially demolished on Sunday, 19 September by the Oyo State government. Since the news broke, there has been public outcry as many had knocks for the governor and the state government. There were claims that it was on the instruction of the State governor, His Excellency Abiola Ajimobi.
The matter was deadlocked as the state government insisted that the course of action it took was the right one. It alleged failure to regularize the structure’s building plan with the government. Meanwhile, the ace musician had gone to court with hearing has been fixed for September 12, 2018.
In the heat of the controversy, however, some well-meaning people of Oyo State waded into the matter in a bid to bring about an amicable settlement of the matter. At the helms of it was Mr. Joseph Tegbe, one of the current Oyo State governorship aspirants, who arranged a meeting between the governor and the singer.
Last week Thursday, they were able to meet at the governor’s office for discussions. The outcome has been friendlier as the the governor and Mr. Ayefele were seen smiling cordially with each other. It is expected that this will bring a better resolution of the issues surrounding the demolished radio station.
Mr Tegbe is currently seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the 2019 governorship elections in Oyo state. He is a Principal Partner with auditing giant, KPMG. He is a graduate of civil engineer from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and an alumnus of the Lagos Business School.
