Nigeria Falconets booked a place in the quarter finals of the 2018 FIFA Women U-20 world cup in France.
Falconets lost their first match against Germany 1-0 before beating Haiti 1-0 and they needed to avoid defeat against China to stand a chance of progressing to the next round.
China took the lead in the 41st minute to end the half with a slim victory.
Nigeria improved after the restart but the Chinese defenders proved a hard nut to crack, the team threw all they had at the Chinese team but they defended doggedly.
Rashedat Ajibade save the Falconets’ blushes by scoring a 95th minute equalizer to restore parity and to book Nigeria’s place in the quarter finals of the competition.
Nigeria will battle it out with Spain in the quarter finals.
