Former Atletico Madrid Coach, Javier Aguirre has been appointed as the new coach of the Pharaohs of Egypt.
Thierry Henry was reported to be the front-runner to take the job, but the Belgium assistant coach lost out to Aguirre.
Hector Cuper resigned after failing to qualify Egypt for the next round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The 59-year old Aguirre was in charge of his native country Mexico in the 2002 and 2010 World Cup, he has been given the responsibility of qualifying the Pharaohs of Egypt for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Javier Aguirre will be unveiled in a news conference today in Cairo.
