The Oyo state government has finally carried out the demolition of popular musician, Yinka Ayefele’s Music House.
It was revealed days ago that the N800 million mansion, Music House was marked for demolition as some parts of it was not approved by the government.
The notice pasted on the structure days ago, according to David Ajiboye, Oyo state Director of Corporate Affairs and Promotions, stated that the owner of the building three days to vacate the building and remove the structure or risk its removal by the government.
Located on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the building’s spiral staircase, mast, fence was not in the approved plan.
Ajiboye said, “And therefore the entire N800 million edifice where almost 150 people make their daily bread have to go down. You are all invited to the demolition show at the Music House tomorrow”.
Ayefele had reacted to the demolition notice stating that it is politically motivated. He added, “We want to make it clear that Music House followed due process in the construction of the building and got relevant approvals from state departments and agencies associated with lands and buildings.”
