Police have laid siege on the house of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and also that of the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, amidst heightened rumors of a planned impeachment of both principal officers of the senate.
Yesterday, the inspector general of police invited Saraki to come and clear his name over the Offa Bank robbery which saw the death of about 30 people. This is after the arrested robbers implicated him.
However, Saraki has stated that the invitation by the Police over the Offa robbery investigation is a mere afterthought which is designed to achieve political purpose.
Reacting to the siege laid on the houses of the senate principal leaders, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Tuesday said it is not aware of the siege laid on their residence by security agencies.
NPF spokesman, DCP Jimoh Moshood said he is not aware of the development. “I am not aware. You are just informing me,”
