While speaking on how citizens of the state should vote, he reminded them of the bad state of roads in the state.
However, his words didn’t sit well with Jeff Nwoha, a political appointee of the governor of Imo, who took the microphone from the hands of the Archbishop to defend the ruling party in the state, APC. A member of the opposition party, PDP, also stepped on stage to challenge the ruling party. This led to thugs allegedly from Jeff’s camp to rush to the stage forcing the clergy man to retire to his seat. Read story as shared on Facebook below.
”Shameful indeed as ENTRACO boss and Co attack Bishop Ajv Obinna in Owerri: Political appointee to the governor of Imo State, Jeff Nwoha before the Chief of Staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and wife of the governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha almost beat up Archbishop Obinna. Today during the burial of the mother of Alex Mbata at Owerri North, Archbishop Obinna admonished people to vote wisely. He complained about bad roads in the state insisting that despite the ministry of happiness Imolites cannot be happy with bad road. An APC chieftain took microphone from him to defend the government. A PDP follower also came and called for change from APC misrule. Jeff and his thugs rushed to the alter to take the microphone from the Archbishop who withdrew to his seat and priests and Christian fathers struggled to keep them out. Uche Nwosu and Nkechi Okorocha sat there enjoying the spectacle without stopping Jeff as Jeff pointed at Archbishop in the face and rained insults on him as the service went on”.
