A Nigerian Facebook user by name Oluwatuyi Olowoyeye has taken to the platform to share his experience while trying to get his PVC (Permanent Voters Card). According to him, people had started registering their names as early as 4:00am which made him conclude that Nigerians are wired to adjust to any existing situation.
He stated that the exercise ended by 12pm as opposed to the time that government staff closes which is by 4pm. According to him “The office was just opened till 4pm but work ended earlier before then.”
Here is what he wrote…
*MASSES don’t have PVC*
The post trending recently, It appeared on several social media. I have read it many times until I was dreaming about PVC
#Inec_will_not_count_your_prayer_points_Get_your_PVC.
The post was on point and timely, because over the years I had always avoid going through the rigors of PVC registration
I doubt if in Ado Ekiti, INEC want to people to get their PVC, I can vouch thousands of it dwellers don’t have one (1)
On 31st of January I was at the Ado Local government INEC office along Bank Road. My expectations was meeting young people (18<=x>=30 years) but unfortunately I met the older folks there too who didn’t have voters card.
On getting there I was told people had been registering their names as early as 4:00am.
Are you kidding me
For real I saw 4:00am
It is said that Nigerians are wired to adjust to any existing situation. If they are required to report by 12am, I know some will be there.
People who put down their name all together that day were 40 in number.
Thanks to God I can be patient for Africa
I waited till they concluded the whole card registration process for 40 people
It ended 12pm
I thought government staff closes by 4pm…Lols that was in those good olden days
The office was just opened till 4pm but work ended earlier before then.
I got there 9:48am, waited till 2:00pm maybe I will be considered, I spoke with a personnel he responded that’s how we run things here.
Today 7th January, I can’t believe I left home 5am. I was the 21st person on today’s list. As at 6:30am the security personnel who put down our names sent people back home since the number for the day is complete.
¹We have many wards and polling unit in Ado, Please mobilize INEC staff with registration kits to #ALL the centres. Make life easy for people, It is not everyone that can leave the comfort of their bed 4am to register.
²Devise the PVC online registration on your website for everyone to access, People will only need to submit the print out for their biometrics and Face capture.
Provide all feasible solutions until everyone get their PVC??
Have you also got an experience you want to share?
