US based singer, Reprudencia Sonkey, known by her stage name Dencia, has called on Americans to focus on the right things cos this talks about gun control is actually distracting. The entrepreneur, fashion designer and philanthropist aired her opinion via her twitter page where she wrote:
Americans are focused on the wrong thing, guns aren’t ur problem. A hurt person will find a way to hurt the people or person who hurt them. Teach love, stop the bullies. They’ll use other things to hurt people, kids are mean AF, humans are inhuman & treat each other like shit.
This tweet from the singer comes just barely a week after a gunman killed 17 Florida high school students. The teen gunman opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle at his former high school in Parkland, Florida. The gunman, identified as 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, is said to have concealed himself in the crowd fleeing Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School following the massacre on Wednesday afternoon. Reports have it that he was arrested in nearby Coral Springs.
Police say Cruz began firing into a series of rooms, returning to two of them as he continued pumping round after round at the huddled, terrified teachers and students. Cruz then went up the stairs, allegedly firing at another room as he traveled through the school building. Cruz arrived at the school by taking an Uber car, took the rifle out of a case then proceeded to shooting in classrooms. After the shooting, he went to Walmart to buy a drink then proceeded to Macdonald’s where he was arrested.
Since his arrest, Cruz has made his first court appearance and is facing 17 counts of premeditated murder. The incident has led many to used the opportunity to resurrect the call for gun control in the United States.
