Benue attacks: See the face of the mastermind (Picture)
Below is a picture showing the face of the man said to be the mastermind of the Benue attacks perpetrated by Fulani Herdsmen who have been on rampage in the State for years now. Reports have it that 40 year old Alhaji Laggi was apprehended by security operatives on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
The suspect was arrested at the Tunga Forrest in Nasarawa State and the operation was carried out by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by ACP Abba Kayari.
Four other principal suspects have been arrested between February 16 to 19 in the same Tunga town, Nasarawa State and were in possession of AK47 rifles and other prohibited arms.
The suspects identified as identified as Mallam Mumini Abdullahi 34, Muhammed Adamu 30 and Ibrahim Sule, 32 were arrested in connection to the killing of Sergeant Solomon Dung, other police officers and many innocent citizens in Benue State.
Preliminary interrogations carried out on the suspects saw them confessing to the killings and mentioned their fleeing gang members who are in possession of the police rifles they took from the cops they murdered.
The Military has launched operation cat dance in Benue State to curtail the activities of the murderous Fulani herdsmen. This effort by the Federal Government was commended by a former governor of the State, Gabriel Suswam who in an interview with NAN urged citizens of the State to cooperate with the security agents in restoring peace to the food basket of the nation. He said, ”Let us be law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies to ensure the success of the military operation in the state”. The former governor also used the opportunity to commiserate with those who have lost loved ones due to the activities of the herdsmen in the State.
