Murdered on Saturday by unknown gunmen, his death has thrown friends, family members and colleagues into mourning.
The winner of the third edition of Gulder Ultimate Search, Hector
Jobarteh, was on Saturday fatally shot by suspected armed robbers.
News of his death was posted on Facebook by users identified as Baskelly Legendhustler and Oluwatosin Van Phillips Genesis.
The former reality TV show contestant reportedly trailed from the airport where he had gone to pick his younger brother.
Two armed men were said to have forced their way into the building where
he lived and located their target after questioning his neighbours.
They opened fire upon sighting him, according to an online report by Tribune.
Jobarteh was pronounced dead at the hospital.
However, his father was also shot in the hand but is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
The deceased’s wife, Ossei, who was also a contestant on the now
rested TV show sponsored by Nigerian Breweries, was not at home when the
attack occur as she is said to live in the United States.
Jobarteh won GUS 3 held at NIFOR, Benin City in Edo State, going home with the grand prize of N5million and a Ford Explorer SUV.
He got married in 2013.
Kemiashefonlovehaven gathered that hector’s wife, Ossei is said to
be in shock over the news of her husband’s death and all calls to her
lines have not been picked.

A family friend disclosed to KALH that Ossei is heavily pregnant and
the husband, the late Hector had returned to Nigeria to renew his visa.
Hector and daughter, Zoe
“He called me when he returned last month and said he was home to
renew his visa. He was to leave for the US soon because he was worried
about his pregnant wife, and daughter, Zoe who would clock three years
soon.
The news of his death is a shock to us all. Hector was very generous
and willing to help. Though he had some businesses he was doing in the
country but not a shady guy. Why should anyone want him dead? They said
the gunmen were asking for Hector and shot him in the heart. This is not
robbery, its sheer assassination,” the friend who craved anonymity
said.
