EFCC arraigns whistle blowers for giving false information
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday,
arraigned the duo of Buhari Fannami and Ba-Kura Abdullahi before Justice
M. T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri, for allegedly giving
false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement said Fannamit had
misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies
purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba’a Lawan but the
information turned out to be false after the execution of a search
Nigeria battle ready for Ebola – Health
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, on Wednesday assured
that Nigeria is well prepared against possible outbreak of the Ebola
virus in the country.
The World Health Organization had announced Ebola outbreak in northeast of Democratic Republic of Congo.
Adewole, who spoke while briefing State House correspondents on the
outcome of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council presided
over by Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, said there was an implication
for the outbreak recorded in Democratic Republic of Congo because a
single case would enable government trigger a public health alert.
Osinbajo confirms freedom of another Chibok girl
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday confirmed that another
Chibok schoolgirl had been found, barely 12 days after the release of
the 82 abducted girls by their captors.
The development came about 2 weeks after Boko Haram release 82 Chibok girls.
Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and
Publicity, told State House correspondents in Abuja, that the
recovery of the girl was announced by the acting president during the
Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
According to him, the girl has been brought to Abuja to join her colleagues who were rescued from captivity.
