Last year December (HERE), a
young man according to eyewitnesses just packed his car
(Range Rover), jumped out and started tearing his clothes.
A similar incident has happened again.
A 25-year-old man identified as Ajayi Kehinde did the unthinkable when
he drove his SUV close to a canal, parked and jumped into the canal and
drowned in broad daylight.
The incident happened on Monday evening at a canal located in the Oke Afa area of Isolo, Lagos.
Sources say the incident drew the attention of many people who were
returning from work. The police later confirmed that Kehinde drowned in
the canal and that his body was yet to be recovered.
An eye witnesses said the incident happened around 5.30pm and that onlookers could not rescue him.
His name was known through his identity card found in the car.
What might have caused the victim to commit suicide in such manner was
not yet known as police said they would conduct investigation when they
get full details about him and his address.
As at the time of filing this report, the body had not been recovered as
it seemed the police do not have the necessary equipment to do so.
Lagos Police PRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident. She said
efforts were on to recover his body and that necessary steps would be
taken to unmask the circumstance that led to such extreme decision.
His SUV has been removed from the scene and parked at the police station.
