President Muhammadu Buhari has apologized to
Nigerians over the continued fuel scarcity being experienced across the

the activities of speculators and those resistant to change.

Buhari further promised Nigerians that there would be no increase in the pump price of petrol.
He
made the pledge following fears by Nigerians that the Federal
Government may scrap fuel subsidy which will result in an increase in
the cost of the premium motor spirit, popularly called petrol.
Buhari,
while addressing a joint session of the National Assembly during the
presentation of the 2016 budget of N6.08 trillion, said the pump price
of petrol will remain at N87 “for now”.
“Indeed tough decisions
must be made but this does not mean that we would increase the level of
pains being felt by Nigerians,” he added.
