Before discovering my
gift, I was just a person somewhat lost in the world; a lonely, scared
and worldly desiring individual, I also spent most of my days wallowing
in inferiority complex- feeling as though I was a creation without
purpose, reason or value.
With time while in secondary school, I had
this thirst that water couldn’t quench, I was also frightened and I
thought it was because I was unsure of the love people around me showed
me but that wasn’t it. Everything I felt was because I hadn’t discovered
my purpose and I was threading on the wrong path.
One evening in April 2011, I needed so badly to quench the thirst that
was squeezing my life out of me, which is why I found my gift- Gift of
writing. Before this time, I had no interest in literature or creative
writing. I wrote my very first poem; the experience and feeling were
incredible.
The following year during the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s Holy
Congress in December 2012, I gave my life to Christ and my life took a
new turn, I could feel my life transform; it was as though a weight had
been lifted off my shoulder as I wept, praised and thanked God for
finally quenching my thirst because indeed He is the living water and
from that day onwards I thirsted no more.
Writing served as a tool for me to overcome my inferiority complex, a
way for me to speak and inspire individuals. Writing is not just a form
of art, I consider it a gift from God and my life purpose. Most times,
when I lack motivation or inspiration, I just turn to the word of God
and I always find the right message to pass across. Sometimes also, when
I write and later on I am studying my Bible or I attend a church
gathering, the message of the meeting is always similar to my write ups.
I started using my talent to reach out to people when I realized the following:
• There are others battling inferiority complex and social disorder.
• People need to know the emptiness of a life without God and its purpose or meaning.
• I am gifted to give it out.
• If I don’t speak out, no one will.
I started using it, the very moment I discovered I am created for a reason and I am an ambassador of God.
It is difficult to stand for what you believe in, in this world but if
you do not stand for what you believe in, you will fall for everything.
Thank you and I pray you find your reason for living and gift.
