Actor Saheed Balogun wants you all to know that Governor Ajimobi of Oyo state has a heart of gold despite being a debtor.
In a new interview with Tribune, the controversial actor disclosed how much he loves the Governor.
God knows I love Governor Abiola Ajimobi so much. I am from Ibadan, if you look at Ibadan, we have a history nobody
can match in Africa, we were the first to have a television station in
Africa. First to have an Olympic-size stadium, a university and a
25-storey building involving various companies. Before he (Ajimobi) came
into power, we were dubbed the dirtiest city in Africa and he came in
with the little resources we have and turned things round. Before we
knew it, we have the largest shopping mall and also the largest
groundnut oil plant in Africa, and the best NYSC camp in Nigeria and I
am the first producer in Africa to do a two-cast movie.
We make history here and the governor has taken us back to our
history lane by reshaping the city and constructing roads and before we
knew it, he moved Ibadan 140 points from being the dirtiest city to one
of the neatest cities in Africa. I ask again, what do you want?
There is a statement Ibadan people always use: Oyo ki n sini
lemeji, I hate that word so much, someone has done so well for the
state, what else do you want? You probably want God to come down and
rule? He also has a very accommodating wife, she is the first lady who
would say ‘if my husband is not in the mood, talk to me.’
some that are his making, there are most that are not his making. We
have the federal revenue and if the Federal Government does not drop
money, where do you expect him to get money?
Yes. He has been calling on companies to come and invest and they
believe in his idea and are investing. The people saw the
potentialities and resources in the town and decided to come and invest.
When they saw the beautification projects going on in the city, he
convinced investors to bring Shop-rite here.
