The
First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, this evening, hosted
Nigerian children to a party to mark this year’s Children’s Day
celebration.
Mrs Jonathan said the occasion was her last party
that would be celebrated with the children and youths in the
Presidential Villa.
She also used the occasion to thank them for their respect and love to her during her tenure in office.
However, the first lady enjoined them to be good and obedient children to their parents and remain patriotic to the nation.
Mrs Jonathan expressed confidence in the ability of Nigerian children to excel, adding that the future “is bright” for them.
Some of the children who spoke to NAN said they will miss Mrs Jonathan.
“Mummy
Peace is very like-able and generous; she is always smiling and those
are some of the things we will miss,” Ms Marissa Okorie said.
On
his part, Master Bolaji Oguns, said: “I like the way she dances and
plays with us whenever we come to the Villa for parties; I pray the new
first lady will be dancing with us and giving us gifts during party.”
