According to the Presidency, there are 12 reasons why Nigerians
should vote President Goodluck Jonathan for re-election during the
presidential election of March 28 presidential election.
The 12 reasons were listed in an article titled, ‘Twelve reasons to
support Jonathan’, which was published in the new edition of
‘Villascope’, the official magazine of the State House, Abuja.
Some of the reasons listed includes; Jonathan’s achievements in road
construction, railway rehabilitation, remodeling of airports,
transformed agriculture sector and increased access to education.
The Presidency said Jonathan met 4,500km of motorable roads but constructed/rehabilitated 25,000km of roads.
Other reasons listed are; increased access to housing, improved power
supply, improved water supply, better health facilities, reformed
security infrastructures, economic transformation and increased
Nigerians’ participation in downstream oil sector.
On education, the article said: “Jonathan built 125 Almajiri schools,
14 universities and special schools for girls in 27 states. He gave 101
scholarships to first-class graduates to pursue postgraduate courses in
the best 25 universities in the world.”
“He sponsored 7,000 lecturers of federal and state universities and
polytechnics for postgraduate studies to improve quality teaching.”
Furthermore, the presidency stated that about 61,000 housing units had been built in the six geo-political zones of the country.
