Channels TV reports that the Federal Government has announced that two more Nigerians have tested positive for the Ebola Virus disease.
So far, three Nigerians have contracted the Ebola virus disease, and health experts say the case fatality for Nigeria is 28.6%.
A total of 139 contacts have been put on surveillance.
Meanwhile, a patient (believed to be infected with the virus) was rushed into the clinic of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on Victoria Island, Lagos at around 1pm today…see photos below:
Owing to this, the management of the clinic has shut it down indefinitely.
The Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, Ohi Alegbe, confirmed the development in a statement on Friday.
Alegbe said the Ebola virus patient was on admission at the clinic.
He said: “The management of the NNPC has
announced the indefinite shutdown of its clinic in the Muri Okunola area
of Victoria Island, Lagos, following a suspected case of Ebola virus on
admission at the clinic.

“It was discovered that the patient visited
the First Consultant Medical Centre during the period the first Ebola
case was reported at that clinic.

“In the meantime, all contacts with this
case are being traced and adequate precautionary measures instituted to
contain the possible spread of the disease.

Alegbe said the issue has been reported to health authorities.
