Yes!!!! All Polytechnic can collectively breathe a sigh of relief as the
Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) have finally suspended the
nationwide strike which has been on since October last year.
This piece of good news was made public this morning by the National
Publicity Secretary of the Union, Clement Chirman who added that all
schools are expected to re-open by Tuesday next week for academic
activities.
The decision to end the 10-month old strike was made at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union held in Abuja.
This meeting is following another one which the Union had with the
new Minister of Education and former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim
Shekarau which was generally described as “fruitful”.
