Widow of late Taraba speaker ejected from her home days after husband's burial

Late Taraba lawmaker, Abdulmumini Dame's widow Rukkayya, has been ejected from her late husband’s house in Jalingo, Taraba State, weeks after the burial.
According to Premium Times, Rukkayya, who is still mourning her husband, who was buried on October 26, was evicted from the apartment of her late husband by his relatives. .

Narrating her ordeal to journalist, Mrs. Dame said she got married to the late lawmaker Islam 9 years ago but had no child for him. She alleged that she was constantly harassed by her inlaws due to her inability to bear a child. ”
she was threatened and bullied for bringing bad luck to the family.” .
”As you can see I’m in Takaba (for the 40 days mourning period) but they didn’t allow me to observe it in this house and kept insulting threatening me”, she said. .
.
The embattled widow has since filed a suit seeking redress, her lawyer, Muhammad Rabiu, said. The late lawmaker’s brother, Dennis Dame, in his reaction, however, denied that there was a marriage between his brother and Mrs. Dame. .
.
”He just ‘kept’ her but not as wife. She didn’t even allow us to observe this mourning period but dragged us to court unnecessarily. We too have filed our suit at the tate High Court, so the matter is before the court,” he said. 📸: PremiumTimes

  1. I'm finding it difficult to understand what he meant by "He just ‘kept’ her but not as wife"
I think the deceased family are being unreasonable here.

  2. What's she waiting for after the death of her husband? She has no child for the deceased so she has no right to the said property. Let her look for another man. The families aren't guilty of this. Ladies, listen and listen good when gotten married to a man make sure you go any length to give him children because that's your passport to his property. It doesn't matter if he married you legally or not. This is the logic, if his children owns the property you as their mother automatically happens to be the chief landlady
