Thousands Of Youths Storm Abuja To Pray For Buhari

Thousands of Nigerian youths, Friday, stormed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to pray for the national unity, security, and well-being of the Nigeria’s economy, as well as the health of President Muhammad Buhari.

The 3-Day fasting and prayer at the Eagle Square, Abuja, witnessed the influx of clergy men, both from the Muslim and Christian faith across the country with a prayer for leaders: President, Vice President, Legislature, Judiciary, State Governors, Service Chiefs, among others.

They said it was so unfortunate that the older generation agreed that they (youth) are the future leaders, but some elders were currently living today and tomorrow which rightly belongs to their children.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Chief Makole Azugbene, who likened Nigeria’s situation to the Biblical story of Israelite, said: “They were not content with lamentations but went down on their knees in one accord in prayers."

“Today, Nigeria our father land is faced with similar situations where our maximum efforts are yielding minimum results. The youth have been abused, used, misused and left despondent."

“Their hopes for a brighter day have evaporated in the whirlwind of corruption. They have watched helplessly as the gale of the theft of their Commonwealth has become the order of the day."

“Yet, rather than resort to violent, the youth have chosen the path of peace. The government of Nigeria owes the youth a debt of gratitude. The youth is the hope of this country and as such deserve special attention. Our leaders must not live their today and tomorrow that rightly belong to the youth.”

Nigeria will be in trouble if my sonis rearrested - Nnamdi Kanu's Father
His Royal Highness, Isaac Okwu Kanu, father  IPOB's, Nnamdi Kanu has vowed that Nigeria would be in trouble if his son is arrested or killed.
Pa Kanu said the recent move by the Federal Government to get his son re-arrested, warning that it would spell doom for the country.

Speaking with the Sun, Kanu, who doubles as the traditional ruler of Afara Ukwu Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government area of Abia State also sent an SOS to the United Nations, alleging that the Federal Government planned to kill his son.

“Yes, of course, I’m a human being. When they talk of re-arresting him, it means they want to kill him, but God will not allow them because my son has done nothing wrong. I am using this opportunity to call on the United Nations to call the Nigerian government to order because they are planning to kill my son. My son did not do anything; government should go after those who have committed offence against Nigeria.

He said. “Why will they want to re-arrest him? Did he kill anybody? Did he flout the constitution? Some people are saying that my son, flouted the bail condition given him by a Federal High Court in Abuja, but the question remains, what type of bail condition was that? Is it possible that a person of my son’s standing in the society could stay without meeting up to 10 persons in a day or week?

“So, the said bail condition was against his fundamental human rights. But that not withstanding, I know what we are passing through in my palace; trying to stop people from coming here, but there is a limit to which we can do that. Initially, the major gate to my palace had always been open, but since he came back, that gate has always been shut and we did that to stop people from gaining access to the compound. So, I don’t know what they are talking about.”

Asked what will happen if his son is rearrested, the monarch said, “Yes, re-arresting my son will definitely cause more problems for the country. Why would they re-arrest my son; to kill him? God and our people will not allow that to happen. They should realise that Nnamdi has a boy he has not set his eyes on since he was born and it was out of respect for the laws of the land that made him not to go to London to see that boy.

Court Fixes Date To Hear Application For Final Forfeiture Of Diezani's N2.6bn Properties

A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State, on Friday fixed September 22, 2017, to hear the application for the final forfeiture of four properties across Lagos and River States, and Abuja, valued at N2,611, 592, 199, linked to the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Madueke and her associates.

Justice Anka has directed EFCC to notify the respondents in whose possession the assets/properties sought to be forfeited are found to appear before the court and show cause within 14 days why the properties should not be forfeited to the FGN.

Justice Anka also directed EFCC to make the publication of the interim order in a National newspaper for the respondents and anyone who is interested in the properties to appear before the court to show cause within 14 days why the final order of forfeiture of the properties should not be made in favour of the Federal Government.
