Father agrees to raping daughter!
A 41-year-old man, Sikiru Odejide, who has been sleeping with his 13-year-old daughter (names withheld) since December 2016, has blamed the devil for his action.

The Ogun State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed that the arrest of the randy father was as a result of a complaint from the victim’s mother, who has been separated from the man.

Oyeyemi said the victim’s mother reported at Sango Police Station that her daughter came to her house at Ijeshatedo area of Lagos State to inform her that her father had been having carnal knowledge of her since December 2016 with a threat to kill her if she dares tells anybody about it.

Oyeyemi said: “She further complained to her mother that she could no longer bear the frequent sexual assault from her father, hence she decided to inform her mother.

“The DPO of Sango Police Station, SP Akinsola Ogunwale, detailed detectives to effect the arrest of the randy father, who lives in Onihale area of Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

“The suspect, on interrogation owned up to the crime, but attributed it to the devil’s handiwork.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.

“The CP equally directed that the victim be taken to hospital for proper medical attention.”

Dismissed Air Force Officer Among Boko Haram Fighters In Clash With Police 
 Kano State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Yusuf, yesterday, disclosed that one of the Boko Haram suspects, who allegedly engaged the Police in a gun battle in Kano, was dismissed from the Nigeria Air Force.

Yusuf said the dismissed officer escaped with gunshot wound from the Gaya, Unogo Local Government Area clash.

The Police Commissioner added that five suspects were later nabbed at a hideout, where they were plotting an attack.

He said one of the suspects confessed to the Police about the planned launch of series of attacks on places of worship, public gathering and other “strategic places of interest.”


Yusuf said the suspects were arrested following an active intelligence indicating that the remnant of terrorists group, who escaped from Sambisa Forest were regrouping in some states in the North, including Kano.

The Police boss said: “The suspects arrested are Abba Mohammed of Niger Republic, 20; Usman A. Buhari, 23, of Borno State, and Iliyasu Abdullahi, 46, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

“Two heavily pregnant women were also arrested. They are Aisha Yau, 25, and Ladidi Yunusa, 27, both of Kwarna Hudu Quarters in Nassarawa Local Govern-ment Area of Kano.

“Exhibits recovered from them include one AK-7 rifle, No. 58008821; 49 live ammunition; four magazines, four pieces of IEDS, two sets of Air Force uniform.

“Others are four caps of Air Force Uniform, one hand smoke, one military boot, one set of camouflage uniform, one Volkswagen motor vehicle key, one laptop, one i-Pad, some pictures of the suspects in military uniform and some operational black masks.”



 I Have Spent Salaries I Received, Herman Hembe, Sacked Rep Begs Supreme Court
Sacked member of the House of Representatives, Herman Hembe has told the Supreme Court that he has spent all the salaries he collected as a member of the lower legislative chamber.

Hembe said this in reaction to the court’s order, which compelled him to refund the salaries.

“I have tried very hard to raise a loan to enable me comply with the above order of the honourable court, but have not yet succeeded,” read a letter he wrote to the court.

“This honourable court in its judgement declared the primaries conducted by the 2nd respondent from 7th to 10th December, 2014 null and void and this granted the appellants relief four in her originating summons as reproduced in the judgement’s of this honourable court

“The court in its judgement struck out the appellants grounds of appeal numbered 1, 2, 6, 9, 10, as well as the appellants issues 2 and 3 in her brief of argument and issue 2 of my brief of argument, the issues having been distilled from grounds of appeal that had been struck out.

“The appellant’s notice on appeal and brief of argument and the briefs of 1st, 2nd and 3rd respondents are exhibited herewith am marked exhibits B, C, D, E and F respectively.

“I am applying to this honourable court to set aside the consequential orders against me. I had raised a preliminary objection against the appellant’s originating summons, which was upheld by the trial court and court of appeal, but was overruled by this honourable court,” he wrote in a letter.

Hembe was sacked as the lawmaker representing Vandeikya/Konshisha federal constituency of Benue State on June 23.
Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha, says President Buhari should be back to the country within the next two weeks. Okorocha who was part of some APC governors and chieftains who paid President Buhari a visit at the Abuja house in London yesterday, spoke with BBC World in the UK today where he gave an update on the President's state of health as well as when he is scheduled to return home. Okorocha in the interview said President Buhari was in high spirits and fully engaged in discussions about the Nation.
President Buhari who is currently in the UK for the treatment of an undisclosed ailment left Nigeria on May 7th.



Nigerian Navy Arrests Seven Suspected Fake Officers
According to the Navy, Seven fake Naval officers under the name Merchant Navy have been arrested by the Nigerian Navy Shipyard Pathfinder after allegedly defrauded unsuspecting citizens.

The base Intelligence Officer, NNS Pathfinder, Commander Mamman Aluchi said this while parading them at the base in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to him, these people pose a threat to the nation’s security as similar groups have been found to recruit thousands of so-called officers trained sometimes with arms.
