You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it….
Monday is here again, DANG!
Thankyou so much for your comments on our last feature (HERE).
This morning, newly weds, Enoho Mariam Paul-Ebiai and Ikem Emelieze have granted us the honor of having us feature their beautiful story and wedding photos!
They met four and half years ago
at a kid’s birthday party- that of a mutual friend’s son; (proving that
you can meet the love of your life at unlikely events so go out more!)
and that led to the beginning of something awesome.
They dated for almost four years, yet the proposal came as a total
surprise to her. Yep, that’s very possible in the hands of an artful
man.
When a girl thinks of the future with her boyfriend it’s normal, when a guy thinks of a future with his girlfriend he’s serious…….
The Proposal
Ikem and Enoho travelled to Rwanda for Christmas in 2016. On the 27th,
they went Gorilla Mountain hiking which apparently is quite difficult
but beautiful. Now imagine a man with a real phobia for heights braving a
6-hour climb up a mountain.
We have Dignity and Style, Royalty runs in our blood…
That should give you a clue what Ikem is
capable of doing for his lady. On the way down, with both of them more
than a little worse for wear; Ikem hands the native guide his phone to
take a video and goes down on his knees to propose to his dishevelled
but radiant and quite speechless girlfriend!
The Wedding
The couple had a beautiful white wedding in New York City four months later on April 12th, 2017. Their traditional wedding, however, was in Nigeria on June 3rd,
2017 at The Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Lagos. Theirs was a simple,
classy affair featuring timeless ivory, whites and creams.
The charming Bride
Ikem and Enoho share a favourite colour: blue and they chose that for
their asoebi. To add a little glamour, the women had champagne
headgear; while the man had blue caps on pristine white native attire.
Here’s another twist: they had to plan their wedding in just four
weeks! The wedding date had to be moved forward because the bride’s
grandma’s funeral came up and they didn’t want relatives abroad to have
to go back and forth.
He who finds a wife, finds what is good and recieveth favor from the Lord….
You are my favorite feeling……
You can tell by their exquisite taste from their choice of vendors. There was no compromise on quality:
The bride’s first two outfits were crafted by Collection R, and the
Akwa-oche was a bespoke creation, specially woven by the groom’s family.
She wore a final beaded dress by Monique L’hullier and shoes from
Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik and Rene Caovilla.
The wedding
jewellery was no exception: the bespoke engagement ring from Graff
Diamonds and wedding rings for the couple from Tiffany & Co.
Trust the Magic of New Beginnings…..
Spend life with who makes you happy… Not who you have to impress!!!
Advice to Future Brides
Enoho would like to advise that you roll with the punches when
planning a wedding. “It never always never goes as precisely planned so
take it all in your stride and enjoy yourself regardless.” Take it from a
bride who was very hands-on in planning her own wedding in four weeks;
along with a wedding planner, she’s very close to Ese Uzoh of 3rd Avenue Events.
On choosing vendors she says, “Always get a good
photographer and makeup artist that reflect your personal style. A good
band and/or DJ is essential too if you like to dance.”
We couldn’t agree more. We wish Ikem and Enoho a blissful life together.
