It was a dark Easter Sunday after unknown gunmen reportedly attacked a
community in Jema’a Local Goverment Area of Kaduna State, which left 13
Christians dead.
Details are still sketchy right now, but it is believed to be part of
the Southern Kaduna Violence involving the fulani Herdsmen and local
farming communities, which so far have left over 200 people dead in past
attacks.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai in a statement through his spokesperson,
Samuel Aruwan condemned the attack and extended his condolence to the
victims and their families. He noted that security personnels have been
dispersed to get rid of bandits from the forest areas.
Samuel Aruwan in a Facebook post said the governor launched an
operation Harbin Kunama II’, a necessary operation that’d end violent in
the parts of Southern Kaduna noting that it would also help the Army
deal with anyone responsible for the attacks.
The governor also requested support from communities to the security
agencies as the Nigerian Army gets set to commence a major operation
tagged ‘Operation Harbin Kunama II’, including assisting the Nigerian
Army with vital information that could aid a successful clampdown on
elements responsible for this terror attacks on our citizens.
