Nigerian red carpet queen, Genevieve Nnaji disappointed her fans for missing the 2017 AMVCA in Lagos.
It’s the first time the Nollywood actress would be nowhere to be found at the show in five years.
Genevieve has been (and still is) the most-anticipated celeb on red carpet since the maiden edition of the movie awards ceremony in 2013.
Her absence at this year’s ceremony which took place at Eko Hotels, on March 4 has raised many questions.
Could she be avoiding jabs for her ‘drink Amstel Malta, get fat’ gaff at last year’s edition? Or could it be because her brand, Amstel didn’t sponsor the awards ceremony this time?
Gene indeed broke the hearts of her fans for not showing up.
Check out Genevieve Nnaji’s AMVCA looks over the years:
Genevieve arrived in a white gown made by Bridget Awosika, she spiced the dress with a plunging neckline.
She later changed into a yellow sleeveless A-line dress that covered her cleavage.
Genny wowed spectators when she walked the red carpet wearing this dress which had a sequined crop top and matching skirt underneath.
The costume was made by Nigerian designer, Jewel By Lisa.
The floor-length dress was made by Elvira Jude with her make-up by Mud Cosmetics.

Hopefully she makes a return to the awards’ red carpet next year and puts a smile on her fans’ faces.
