KFB Foodie Talk: How to make Healthy Banana Oatmeal Pancakes

For our newbies, the KFB foodie talk column - handled by Dobby of Dobbysignature -  is basically for ladies and 'guys' that are interested in learning how to cook better  ;).

Banana oatmeal pancake is a very healthy breakfast meal or snack you can make with mostly natural ingredients and fruits. To sweeten this pancake, i used a combination of banana and honey with no added sugar (at all). You can make this healthy pancake for kids to take to school or health conscious people who are on a diet i.e those who want to lose weight or diabetics. Just in case you didn't know, oatmeal is a great way to add fiber and nutrients to your body first thing in the morning.

It also helps to lower your risk for several diseases such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes. Consuming oatmeal is also a great way for you to lose weight fast because it'd make you feel full for a long period of time before your next meal. Today, we will learn how to make simple banana oatmeal pancakes following this easy recipe.

How to make banana oatmeal pancakes
• Prep time:
15 minutes
• Total time: 30 minutes
• Yield :        10 pancakes
• Misc:          serve hot/warm

• 3 cups oats 
• 2 medium sized banana
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup milk
• 1 tbsp. baking powder
• 1/2 cup honey
• A pinch salt 
• A pinch ground nutmeg
• 1 tbsp. cooking oil

Step 1: Grind the oats till you get a smooth powder, Puree the banana, whisk the eggs

Step 2: In a medium sized bowl, combine the oatmeal, baking powder, salt, ground nutmeg, pureed banana, whisked eggs, honey and milk then you mix together.

Step 3: Grease a frying pan with little oil and heat up the pan for 30 seconds. Pour a spoon full of the batter onto the pan and leave to cook till it turns brown. Flip over and repeat the same for the other side. 

Step 4: Serve hot, garnished with fruits and drizzled with honey.
