Yesterday, Daddy Freeze took to his Instagram page to ask questions
about the #SaveMayowa campaign and the welfare of the ailing woman.
“Is Mayowa receiving her treatment yet?” The Coolfm OAP asked on his Instagram page and website, adding, “the
public was asked to help Mayowa raise $100,000 about N32 million for
treatment at Emory international hospital Atlanta, and so far over
=N=122 million which is four times the amount requested was raised, and as of today 8th of August 2016, Mayowa is allegedly still in Lagos.”
Freeze then asked why Mayowa was yet to be flown abroad for
treatment, two weeks after the requested amount was raised and if the
story has been ‘swept under the carpet’.
Recall that campaign was mired in controversy after Toyin Aimakhu
alerted the police and accused them of scamming Nigerians, but the
actress later apologised and explained that she made the allegations
because Aramide Kasumu of Life State Foundation told her the campaign
was a fraud.
There has been a bit of silence since the Lagos State Police
commenced investigations on the alleged #SaveMayowa scam. And so,
yesterday, when Daddy Freeze raised questions about Mayowa’s welfare,
his fans assumed that the sick woman’s family were intentionally are
keeping her news away from the press.
However, there is now an update on Mayowa as tweeted from the family’s handle on July 5.
According to the family, they lost their initial contacts because of
the allegations that they scammed Nigerians, but new plans have been
made to fly their loved one to the UAE for treatment.
